Goals from last week: do some type of exercise to replace zumba –not done
– daily – 15 minutes of decluttering/organizing – done – didn’t get 15 minutes every day but did average 15 minutes for the week. There have been other daily tasks to add in addition to this but my life has not been cooperating.
We had a death in the family, activities at church, a sick child, 2 children home because of election day, helping to deliver popcorn with my son and the normal procrastination and laziness to deal with this past week. I am going to continue to do the daily 15 minute task and try to catch up with some of the other tasks in the challenge.
What have you done this week?
I did some work in the garden but not as much as I should have. I just couldn’t get motivated to stay out there last week when it was nice and then of course this week so far has been, cold, wet and windy.
Looked for a Zumba DVD but they are all checked out of the library. I don’t want to buy one without checking it out first. Did try a different type of workout DVD but it made my knees hurt so I’m still looking for something.
If you have been reading this blog for any length of time you have surely noticed that I lack self-discipline. So, when I read at SuperSweetLife.com about the 21 Day Self-discipline Challenge, I decided to give it a try. They are using Crystal Paine’s book 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life as a guideline to follow.
For the first day we are to pick out a small task that we have been avoiding and just get it done. I chose to put my credit card receipts in order so I can check them off with my statements. That went faily quickly as I knew it would. Why is it that I know it won’t take that long but I avoid, avoid and avoid??
The other assignment is to pick a “mega-project” and make a plan for completing it. Then do just the first step in the plan. Like so many of the others who are doing the challenge, I had some difficulty narrowing down my choices because there are so many undone projects around here.
In the end I decided to do something about the organization/clutter in this house. I am committing to at least 15 minutes of daily organizing and/or decluttering of the house. Today I started by going through some of the stuff on my desk. I made a dent but still have more to do.
Next week’s to dos are to spend 15 minutes on my “mega-project” and to do some type of weekly exercise to replace Zumba.

Overall, I am okay with my results. Between the Boy Scout Tea and eating out twice, I was worried that I would have gained a lot but .2 lbs is not bad.
Haven’t found a replacement for my Zumba class but I’m still looking around. Hopefully I’ll find something by next Thursday.

Still have some work to do in the orchard but it is coming along. We are supposed to get hit with some yucky weather this weekend so I need to try and do as much as I can tomorrow. Went to Zumba class last week – we may be doing another session. I will find out tonight.
For next week I am going to finish the orchard and look for a zumba class/dvd or online workout so I can continue working out.

I have been increasing my walks which is helping my step counts. I had 2 slip up days with my calorie counting. One was just a few calories over but the other one was a major fall off the wagon. I do not have will power and I should not buy candy with the thought that I will ration it out over a period of time. I can only buy what I want to eat at the moment. Now to try to remember that when I am at the store!!
Only one late night this week but also only one exercise session. Want to do better this next week in both of those categories.
Very pleased with my weight loss. Hope to keep the streak going and hit 3 weeks in a row. We’ll see how it goes.
What have you done to get fit lately?
Better report this week – I went to Zumba class and did a ton of work in the garden. I still have lots to do in my garden but I’m getting closer to finishing the “must dos” on my list.
For the upcoming week, I’m going to my next to last Zumba class and will try to complete my work in the orchard part of my garden.

I’m going to try to get back into the 100 day challenge. I started off strong but didn’t see progress, got frustrated and ended up not doing things for awhile. Now I’ve been given a proposition that I’m not really eager to accept. I need to get my weight down so I can stick with my solitary pursuit of better health and fitness.

Well, I hit a bump in the road last week and there are no TA DAS to report. I was feeling miserable and just didn’t want to do much of anything. Lately I seem to be having this feeling quite a bit. I may need to check in with my doctor and make sure everything is okay.
The one thing I did do was a lot of thinking and I know what my biggest mistake has been. I have way too much negative self-talk in my head. I’m constantly beating myself up for making some kind of mistake. Then I decide there is no point in trying and go completely off the path and do more self-defeating behaviors.
I am going to try to concentrate on the present – stop beating myself up about past choices – stop worrying about what might happen – and just be in the moment. I’m going to remind myself(every morning, noon and night/hourbyhour/minute to minute – whatever it takes) to make a good choice and keep moving forward.

What’s on your list??
Once again I was able to do some work on my goals but have not completed them. I spent several hours working in the garden this weekend, haven’t done much since because it has been wet and cold. I am almost done with the back to school forms and then I will get back to work on my pile of papers. Zumba was good this week and I am looking forward to next week.

Well, I did a bit in the garden, a bit of my paper pile and another Zumba class. Since all still have work to be done I will repeat them for next week.
Everytime I get close to the end of my pile of papers, someone comes and long and adds something else for me to take care of. It just never ends!
