Another horrible week!!

But at least I’ve learned where I’m getting into trouble. It’s in my eating habits. There was a time when I was measuring/weighing every bite I put in my mouth. Then I started to just “eyeball” things and now I’ve gotten way off the mark. I’m thinking I’m eating one serving when I’m actually eating one and a half or two.
According to the calculator on one of those fitness/nutrition sites(which I can’t remember ) I have a dailyneed for 1290 calories. If I’m doing some form of exercise daily I can go up to 1775 calories. This week I have been eating between 2000 and 2500 calories a day. That is an excess of anywhere from 1575 to 5075 calories a week. That translates into .45 to 1.45 pounds gained in a week.
Obviously, I need to do some serious revamping of the diet. I want to come up with some meals that I can have and know exactly what the calorie counts are. I want to come up with some snacks that will fill me up and keep me satisfied.
I will also need to pick up the pace when it comes to exercising. Maybe doing some riding on the stationary bike or try to increase my speed while I’m walking.
There are 95 days to go in my hundred day challenge, here’s how I’m doing so far.
-Take a least 15000 steps per day 4/5
-Write down what I eat and see how much I’m taking in to help me create a daily calorie goal – I will try to limit myself to 1800 and up my activity level and hope that will work new daily calorie goal is 1800
-Zumba class once a week 1/1
-Start doing some exercises for my arms, abs and legs will try to do this 3 times/week – have done twice so far this week
-Get to bed by 10 pm every day 1/5
Obviously I have my work cut out for me. Here’s hoping I will have a much better report next week. Have a great weekend.

I walked more, did a few(ok, a very few) ab and arm exercises and went to Zumba class. It appears that I need to do more walking and definitely more exercises. I think I need to put a bit more effort into Zumba as well. It is cooler now and I didn’t sweat as much this week – perhaps the sweat was due to the heat and not the exercise.
I would like to think that the weight gain was due to increased muscle mass but clearly that is not so. Instead I must put the blame on the Aldi version of Nutella – I love Nutella but buy it infrequently due to the cost(and the fact that I have no will power). This week I saw a Nutella-like spread and decided to try it and see how it compared. Bad move – it was gone in 3 days. I know better – I know I have no will power and shouldn’t even buy stuff like that- but I did it anyway.
There are 100 days left in this year and I’m going to buckle down and really work at getting rid of this weight. 11.6 pounds translates to 186 ounces. That means I need to lose less than a pound( 14 ounces to be precise) a week – I should – no I will do my best to hit that goal.
How to make it happen??

-Zumba class once a week
-Start doing some exercises for my arms, abs and legs
-Get to bed by 10 pm every day
I may add more later but I’m going to start with these and work to meet them consistently.

No change on the scale 16317 steps average for the week
Did do some ab work today and am getting ready for a walk. If the weather cooperates, I should be able to get in some bike riding tomorrow.
It is just too nice to be inside today. I’m heading out for a walk and then some work in the garden.

I’ll start with the good news – I averaged over 18,000 steps a day last week, increased my jumproping to 3 sessions of 70 seconds each and did some ab exercises. My waist is shrinking – well only a quarter inch but it is getting smaller.
On the other hand I gained weight again – back to needing to lose 7 pounds. I’m more interested in losing the inches so that is what I’m going to focus on today. I know I did some stress eating after the car got hit, so I’ll get back on track and do better next week.
If I walk at least 10,500 steps per day until the end of the month, I will hit 1 million steps. I’m pretty sure I can do it – unless the weather messes me up.

Well, I’m down four-tenths of a pound. Now to keep it off and send more off with it. I’m trying to do some ab exercises this month. It is hard to know what to do – it seems like every exercise has someone who says it is not good for you. I just read yesterday that crunches are bad for your back. Not sure what to believe anymore.
I did my step totals for the month and the year. I logged 277,374 steps in February which averages out to 9562/day. That is an increase over last month. My year to date total is 564,022 which averages out to about 9400/day. That means I need to average 14,497 daily to make my goal of 5 million steps for the year.

Still no movement on the scale but did see a teeny, tiny move in my measurements. Still doing the pushups and situps for the challenge, unfortunately it isn’t getting any easier. Only 2 more days of the challenge. Not sure what the new routine will be.
Kiddos will be back to school next week and I can try to come up with a plan to incorporate some exercise and walk time everyday. We’ll see how it goes. I’m very good at planning but my follow through leaves a bit to be desired.
Well, I didn’t have any scale movement today. I haven’t been getting a walk in this week, although I have dome some push ups and sit ups for my challenge. I’v also done a fair bit of weed pulling in the garden.
Once school starts (12 days, 17 hours and 14 minutes), I’ll be able to get back on track with the walking. I am looking forward to it. I definitely get a boost from being outside and moving around.
Just a few random items I thought I’d share
I finally started the declutter list page. I put a few things on it but there are more to include.
I’m afraid to update my savings goal – DH hasn’t been getting paid and we’ve had to dip into the emergency fund. Not much saving going on here.
I’m doing another 2 week challenge. This time we have to do daily pushups and situps. It is killing me but I’m trying. I do a few at a time and then rest and do more later.

Nice surprise this week. I’m down from last week. Still not back to my lowest point but I did lose a bit last week. Now to keep it up.
Kids will both be at camp next week and I will try to get back to walking each day. Also will try to get the exercise thing going again. Need to do something for my arms and abs.
I got very discouraged a few weeks back – I had my best week of walking and thought I would lose some weight but I gained weight. I didn’t feel like reporting that and before you know it several weeks have gone by with no updates.
I will once again climb back onto the wagon and start working. I lost my pedometer so I haven’t been able to keep track of my steps. Still, I know I need to do more that I have been.
I can report that I did lose what I hadd gained and now need to lose 9.2 pounds. I’m at my lowest weight for the year so far. Now to keep it going down. I am trying to write down everything I eat, so I can get an idea of how many calories I am actually eating everyday. It isn’t easy but I’ll do my best.
I’m also trying to get back to doing the ab exercise on a daily basis and yoga at least once a week. We’ll see how it goes.
