TA DA/TO DO Thursday

I did a bit of decluttering in the garden today and yesterday.  Got rid of some leaves, cut back some of the irises, covered one of the veggie beds and of course  pulled some more weeds.

I did a little bit of organizing this week and have been walking a bit more as well.  I’ll find out tomorrow if the walking has done anything for my weight. 

This week I would like to get the Christmas decorations out and create the final list of presents  that I still need to get.

Tidbit Tuesday

Here are the random thoughts rolling around in my head today…

Had a lovely dinner at my in-laws. I did eat too much but I’m working on getting rid of it.

Have had a little bit of snow which is nice to look at. DS made a few snowballs and that just about cleared the yard!

Still need to cover two vegetable beds but most everything else is done.

Not really in the Christmas mood yet. I dread the shopping  – not sure what to do about it all. Did pick up one or two things but there is much more to get.

Still feeling unmotivated and lazy – off to try to find something to get me up and moving.


Made a little bit of progress with the organizing/decluttering. Did get rid of a big bag of trash and some stuff went into different areas. Will keep it up for another week – probably won’t make as much progress with it now that the holiday preparations are beginning. We’ll see what I can do. Every little bit will help.

Haven’t done anything about exercising. Just getting a walk a day and trying to keep moving throughout the day. Hopefully I will do better because I will need all the help I can get with the holidays.

This and That

Wow, I haven’t been keeping up with my fitness posts. Here’s a recap of the various things I have been working on this year.

5 million step challenge – as of 11/19 I have  gone  4,113,076  steps. I have  886,924 steps to go. With 42 days to go that means I need to average 21,118 steps everyday. A very tall order but I’m trying to do as much as I can.

100 day challenge  –  as of 11/19      in bed by 10 pm  39/58      15,000 steps  42/58              less than 1800 calories   27/58    exercise   14/24      pounds to lose   6.8    Definitely need to do better during this last half of the challenge. Will be tough with the holidays and get-togethers but I need to do my best.

I was able to do quite a bit in my garden. There is still stuff that could be done but the essentials are done. Now it is time to do some dreaming and planning for next spring.

The organizing and decluttering is going well. I made over $20 by selling some kid clothing and some books. Things are slowly getting sorted through and rooms are looking better.

TA DA/TO DO Thursday

I have managed to keep up with the decluttering and organizing. I have completed 2 rooms and have done some work in 3 others. The next big task will be to keep them that way! I am continuing on with this for at least another week.

Tried out 2 more exercise videos but they just didn’t do it for me. I’m still looking and hopefully I’ll find something good.

Tidbit Tuesday

Here are the random thoughts running around in my head today…

Still need to finish up in the garden. Had a beautiful weekend and got some but not all of the work done.

Was the girl’s birthday  and she was very pleased with her gifts and the activities she had over the weekend.

I have (yet again) fallen off the wagon and need to get back up and on again. Maybe I just need to find another wagon??  Have lost some weight and done some decluttering/organizing but have not been consistent in my efforts. Definitely need to be more intentional with the holidays coming up.

Guess that’s it for today – hope to be back again soon with a report on some progress.


Goals from last week:  do some type of exercise to replace zumba –not done

 – daily – 15 minutes of decluttering/organizing – done – didn’t get 15 minutes every day but did average 15 minutes for the week. There have been other daily tasks to add in addition to this but  my life has not been cooperating.

We had a death in the family, activities at church, a sick child, 2 children home because of election day, helping to deliver popcorn with my son and the normal procrastination and laziness to deal with this past week. I am going to continue to do the daily 15 minute task and try to catch up with some of the other tasks in the challenge.
