Here are the random thoughts rolling around in my head today…
I’m so off schedule – the funeral and all that went with that really messed up my week.
I didn’t bother to weigh myself because I know it wouldn’t be pretty. No exercise and too much stress eating. Need to buckle down and get into a better routine.
I was able to get some stuff done in the garden – we have watermelon and cantaloupe growing and some tomatoes. The raspberries are coming in and they are so good.
Need to get back to work on the playroom – I really want to get that done and move onto another room.
Only one more month until my
slave labor children go back to school. As usual there was so much I planned to do but very little got done.
Off to do some work before getting everyone into bed.
Here are the random feelings/ thoughts rolling around in my head today…
Feeling bad that I missed my chance to say goodbye to a friend who is off to South Africa to see her family.
Feeling sad that DH’s grandmother passed on but relieved that she is in a better place.
Feeling pressure about the decisions to make concerning all of the funeral arrangements.
Feeling stressed by the emotional climate at home – everyone is on edge and fighting/arguing keeps breaking out.
Off to try and find a little peace and serenity.
This week I am updating my savings progress. My hope is to have a total of at least $250,00 in my retirement and emergency funds by the time I hit 60.
As of June 30, 2012 I have $169,348.81 which is 67% of my goal. That means I need to save approximately $708/month or $8490/year to reach the goal. And of course the stock market needs to have more ups than downs in that time frame. We’ll see how it goes.
We finally got some much needed rain the past few days. It was great for the garden but it really did a number on our internet service. I wasn’t able to get online the past few days. So here is a quick update on my latest activities.
Ta Da/To Do Thursday – still working on the playroom. DD decided she wanted the bookcase for her room so I need to find something else to use in the playroom. I have two options to try and hopefully one of them will work. Still have some stuff to sort through and decide where it will go.
Fitness Friday – I heard from the doctor – the xray showed that there is no fracture but there is some calcification and arthritis in the knee area. She said to take it easy for another couple of weeks and then start back slowly with the exercising and to gradually build up. If I’m still having pain, I may go to physical therapy to learn some ways to strengthen the area.

Definitely will need to pick up the pace if I’m going to make it to 5 million steps by the end of the year.
Hope you are having a good weekend.
Here are the random thoughts roaming about my head today…
Wondering what to do without kiddos for 2 days – will be the first time in 14+years that hubby and I have been on our own for more than a few hours.
DD is on her way to New Orleans for a Youth Gathering with other members of our church. She is hoping to do some exploring along with the scheduled activities. She will return on Monday.
DS will leave for his first overnight stay without a parent. He is going to a sleepover camp for 3 nights. I hope he does okay.
I still have some soreness in my knee but no longer any pain. I’m still having difficulty walking or being on it for long. Not sure what the next move is.
Had some zucchini from the garden last night and I will be picking the last of the lettuce as it is starting to bolt. Need to water everything tomorrow morning.
We have an ant invasion going on. DH put out some traps and we’ll see how they work. It would help if I could get my kids to keep food where it belongs and not sneak it other places.
Think that’s about it for now.
1500 b00k challenge update
I have now read 214 books which means I have 1286 to go to reach my goal. This summer I have been reading quite a bit as I try to encourage DS to read also.
I have been trying to alternate between fiction and nonfiction. The fiction has mostly been mysteries. I do love to try and solve the mystery before the characters do. I have read quite a few first books in a number of new series and they have been quite enjoyable. I hope the authors will be able to keep things interesting and suspenseful.
I need to update my book page but I don’t have time for that today. Hopefully, I will get to it sometime this week. What have you been reading??

It has been a very disappointing week. I haven’t been able to do much of anything in terms of exercise. I’ve done too much eating and too much sitting.
Doctor thinks that I have bursitis and reccommended rest, naproxen and ice. Hopefully it will start to help soon. I’m getting tired of not being able to do things. I want to be up and doing stuff.
Guess that’s it for now. Have a great weekend.
