Just a short note today because this has been a rough week and I have not been focused on my goals.
My weight has stayed the same which is surprising, since I have been eating horribly and not doing much in the way of exercise or walking. Although I did make my first milestone – I have walked over 1 million steps!!
Not sure when I’ll be able to post again. The kiddos are off school for a week and that always messes with my schedule.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
I’ll start with the good news – I averaged over 18,000 steps a day last week, increased my jumproping to 3 sessions of 70 seconds each and did some ab exercises. My waist is shrinking – well only a quarter inch but it is getting smaller.
On the other hand I gained weight again – back to needing to lose 7 pounds. I’m more interested in losing the inches so that is what I’m going to focus on today. I know I did some stress eating after the car got hit, so I’ll get back on track and do better next week.
If I walk at least 10,500 steps per day until the end of the month, I will hit 1 million steps. I’m pretty sure I can do it – unless the weather messes me up.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
For this week my three tasks were –
1. Declutter at least 1 item – tossed some broken decorations
2. Exercise for 15 minutes – finally accomplished this one!!
3. Get our personal tax information ready for the accountant – didn’t get done. I was getting ready to do it when my neighbor stopped by with some bad news. For the third time, my car was hit by a hit and run driver so I spent the afternoon making phone calls.
I’ve had 3 cars totaled in the last 8+ years. I had one accident due to distracted driving and the other 2 were hit and runs. I live on a one way street and there is plenty of room on the street. In fact there is usually no one parked on the other side of the street. It amazes me that no one ever stops to give you their information.
Just heard from my insurer – looks like it will be 4 cars totaled – ugh! I do not want to go car shopping again. Maybe it is time to be a one car family. Oh well, on to next week’s goals. I will repeat the goals I had for this week and try for 2 weeks in a row for exercise.
Hope your day is going better than mine.
Here is another installment of the random thoughts running through my head …
I am enjoying the fragrant blossoms in my garden. The peach and plum trees are flowering, the daffodils and the hyacinths are blooming and other stuff is getting new growth. It is wonderful. I got a new type of daffodil and it is really pretty. Now if I can just keep DS from picking all the flowers!
Our new mattress and boxsprings are here. I can’t wait to see how I sleep tonight. Although this mattress is much higher than our old one. I have to do a little hop up to get on it! I guess after 20 years the old one compressed quite a bit.
I’m hoping that the pruning I did on the clematis didn’t harm it. I read that you should prune it back down to 12 inches from the ground and leave 2 to 4 buds on each cane/vine/branch?? I didn’t go quite that far on my Sweet Autumn because it already had quite a few leaves along with buds. I’m going to try to train part of it to cover the ground and the other part to climb up a piece of garden sculpture I have.
I bought some mulch to repair some bare spots. I killed the grass in several areas and now need to get some stuff to plant and mulch there as well. Both kids wanted to get some seeds when I got the mulch and I said sure. DS got 4 packs and then went to show his sister where to get hers. At the register, the clerk began to ring up the packs and he had a few more in his stack. I think we now have about 10 packs of flower seeds and 10 packs of veggie seeds to plant. We will be busy.
I need to get to work on our personal taxes – haven’t done a thing since I put it on the list last week.
Right now I’m off to do some more in the garden. Hope you are having a wonderful day.
I managed to lose 0.2 pounds this week. Last week I managed to average over 12,000 steps a day. It looks like this week I could make it to 15,000 a day. I do so much better when I have someone with me to help keep me going.
Still struggling to do the exercises. I have been walking and doing some work in the yard. Also did a bit of jump roping – I am still sadly out ot shape- couldn’t manage it for more than a minute at a time.
I was much better with my eating habits this week. It helps to keep the junk foood out of the house and to stay out of the store!
Hope you are having a great week. Do something fun this weekend – I’m going to a quilt auction on Sunday.
I didn’t make it to the computer yesterday. I had been feeling stressed with the amount of work I need to do and just took a day off. I read three books, took a couple of walks and visited Grandma at the Rehab center. Feeling a bit more refreshed and hope I can tackle a few things today.
Tasks for this week were –
1. Declutter at least one item – trashed some candles that would no longer light
2. Exercise for 15 minutes -only managed 10 minutes
3. Be in bed by 10 pm – 7/7 again this week
For next week my three tasks are –
1. Declutter at least 1 item
2. Exercise for 15 minutes
3. Get our personal tax information ready for the accountant
Here is today’s installment of my random thoughts …
I finally got the business tax stuff to the accountant – so glad to be rid of it. Now I need to start on the personal stuff
I had a good walk with J and L yesterday. We walked in the park for just over an hour. It was so nice to get out for a long walk.
I’ve been doing some trimming and cleaning up in the yard. There is so much to do – did get 2 beds cleaned out. Need to get some dirt/compost and some mulch.
I planted some new daffodil bulbs in the fall and I can’t wait to see how they look. They are supposed to look like a bunch of daffodils on each stem.
If the week stays warm and dry, I may be able to plant my spring seeds this weekend. I have radishes, beets, spinach, peas, romaine and a mesclun mix to plant.
I need to update the reading log – I have read a few books lately – I need to spend more time with books. I love reading and being transported to another place or learning about something.
The sun is shining and I need to get out there and do something – anything! Have a great day
I do not know why I keep sabotaging myself. I’m trying to lose weight but I eat a pint of ice cream or a package of frozen cookie dough in a day. I know that I shouldn’t but I do it anyway. What is up with that??
I’ve been trying to work with DD about some bad habits she has developed. I told her everytime she takes food into her room and eats it she is making a choice that she knows is wrong. Then it occurs to me that I am doing the very same thing.
Everytime I choose to eat something that is not good for me, I am choosing to gain more weight. Everytime I choose to read another blog, surf the weird news or play a game; I am choosing not to exercise and tone my body.
I really need to start asking myself “Do I really want to eat ______or do I want to lose weight?” before I put something in my mouth. I need to choose to limit my computer time and do more active things. Nothing will change unless I do.
It is time for me to make some moves in the right direction for a change. Hope you are making good choices in your daily activities.
Have a great weekend.
Tasks for this week were
1. Declutter at least one item – video to the half price box
2. Exercise for 15 minutes – 12 minutes
3. Be in bed by 10 pm – 7/7
Still need to work on the exercise thing. I’ll keep the same three goals again this week and see if I can make all three of them. Be back tomorrow with the fitness report for the week.
Here is what is running around in my head today I am…
enjoying some sun shining in through my window
remembering how much fun it is to get together with friends
hoping it gets as warm tomorrow as they are predicting
wishing I could stay on top of my work – actually I am wishing I didn’t have any work!
hoping my sister is having a great birthday
praying that DH’s grandma is getting better
going to lie down a bit before the kids get home
Be back Thursday – see you then
